In their second preseason game, the Chicago Bears showed why they have been labeled as the most improved team in the NFL in the offseason. On Sunday, the Bears completely dominated the Bills with a 38-0 victory and one of their players shone brightly.

One of the most outstanding was Caleb Williams, who played a great game and received praise from all sides, including from his coach.

Caleb Williams promises

The performance of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams was a source of great optimism and coach Ben Johnson did not hesitate to praise him. Williams led the first-team offense on an impressive 92-yard drive that ended with a 36-yard touchdown by Olamide Zaccheaus

The quarterback finished the game with six completions on 10 attempts, 107 yards and a touchdown. "He has really been focused," Johnson said, according to Larry Mayer of chicagobears.com. "Anytime you're a young player, there's usually a couple of steps forward and one step back and that's really been the story of his training camp."

"He and I have been very open and honest about it as we go along. He's had some really good practices and he's had a couple where it's like, 'That's not good enough, buddy'", added the coach.

Optimism surrounds the team

Head coach Ben Johnson also praised the rest of the team, noting that their strong performance was not due to a complex scheme, but rather to the players' clean execution and effective communication

The victory is an encouraging sign that Johnson's culture and teachings are taking root in Chicago, which could make the Bears a dangerous team if they continue to improve throughout the season.
