- Personal Finance. A one-time catchup payment for Social Security beneficiaries? This is the TSCL proposal
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has made a major announcement by adding 13 new conditions to its Compassionate Allowances (CAL) list. This measure, which brings the total number of conditions on the list to 300, is primarily aimed at dramatically speeding up the approval process for disability benefits for those suffering from serious and specific illnesses.
This decision is of great relevance to thousands of people facing devastating medical conditions, as it seeks to eliminate the bureaucracy and long waiting times that often accompany disability applications. By including these 13 new diseases, the SSA recognizes the need for a swift and compassionate response.
Why were new conditions included in the Social Security benefits?
The CAL initiative was designed to expedite claims for applicants whose diagnoses clearly meet Social Security's legal standard for disability. The aim is to expand medical conditions and thus offer even more massive and relevant help to beneficiaries.
What are the 13 new Social Security conditions?

- Bilateral anophthalmia
